Lumi is an Electron desktop application that wraps the H5P editor and player so you can build interactive content — branching scenarios, interactive video, question sets — without a Moodle or WordPress install behind it. That alone makes it useful to freelancers and small teams. What earns it a place in a SCORM directory is the export menu: alongside `.h5p` and standalone HTML, it will produce a SCORM package.

The mechanics set the limits. Lumi bundles the content into a single HTML file with external media, drops in the pipwerks SCORM API wrapper and a small H5P-to-SCORM adaptor, and hands the folder to `simple-scorm-packager` with the version fixed at 1.2. You get a single-SCO SCORM 1.2 package that reports completion and a score, with a mastery score set at export time. You do not get SCORM 2004, sequencing, multi-SCO structures, or any xAPI output.

That makes it a good fit for one job: turning a single interactive activity into something an LMS will accept and grade. It is a poor fit for course-length material, for anything needing 2004 features, or for teams wanting the analytics H5P is often bought for.

The project is alive but modest — last push July 2026, release 1.0.3 in May, 191 stars, and 112 open issues, which suggests demand well ahead of maintainer capacity. Reasonable to depend on for authoring; check each exported package in the target LMS rather than trusting the export blindly.
