LiaScript is a Markdown dialect for interactive courses — quizzes, executable code blocks, text-to-speech, animations — that runs in a browser straight from a Git repository. The Exporter is the companion tool that converts one of those courses into something an LMS will accept: SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, IMS, xAPI, or a static web, PDF, ePub, DOCX or Android build.

It suits a particular author well: someone who wants course content to live in Git as plain text, be reviewed as diffs, and be rebuilt by CI, but who is required to deliver a SCORM package at the end. That is a common position in universities and in open-courseware projects, and it is poorly served by conventional authoring tools, which keep content in binary project files.

It is not a substitute for a WYSIWYG authoring suite. There is no visual editor, no template library and no built-in accessibility checking; you write Markdown and you own the result. The tracking model is also basic by design — completion and score, not the interaction-level reporting that a commercial tool emits.

Maintenance is healthy: the exporter was last released in July 2026, is available as a desktop app as well as a CLI and local web UI, and draws several thousand npm downloads a month. The one caution is version churn — 196 npm releases and a version scheme that pairs the exporter with a LiaScript build, so pin the version in any pipeline you rely on.
