Lernkit is a framework for writing technical training as source code: lessons are MDX, the build produces a static course, and a packager wraps that course as SCORM. Its distinguishing idea is that runnable code is a first-class lesson element — Python through Pyodide, JavaScript through Sandpack, Robot Framework through an execution backend — so a course about a tool can let the learner drive the tool inside the page rather than watch a recording of it.

It is aimed at engineering-led training teams who already live in a repository and a CI pipeline, and who find WYSIWYG authoring tools an obstacle rather than a help. The architecture is unusually legible for a young project: architecture decision records in-repo explaining why SCORM 1.2 and cmi5 come before 2004, unit tests over the generated manifest and zip, and a documentation site that exists.

Be clear-eyed about its age. It was created in April 2026, has one contributor, zero stars, ten open issues and no releases, and the SCORM 1.2 packager is the only shipped output — the 2004, cmi5 and xAPI support named in the repository description is roadmap. That is not a criticism of the project, which says so itself; it is a reason not to put a course library on it this year.

Listed as one to watch, and as a well-documented reference for anyone building a packager of their own.
